To travel

is to live.

Hans Christian Anderson

This Global Education Guide website was created as part of a Teachers For Global Classrooms Fellowship with the US Department of State. You can use this guide to globalize your classroom, school and community with the intention of raising a generation of Global Citizens. You will find resources, book recommendations, links, and lesson plans which will help you launch your first attempt at global learning or provide additional resources for what you already do.

In this time of technology, educators have access to the world.  By capitalizing on our resources we can present global experiences and opportunities to our students and raise them to be globally responsible citizens who act locally to make our world a better place.

Teaching to Transform the World

World issues can be overwhelming, especially when presenting them to students. The United Nations created the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) as a follow up to the Millennium Development Goals .

This chart breaks down the goals into manageable ideas that students can understand. Working to meet these goals can blend into current lessons or be lessons by themselves.
